I am officially published!

My short story "A Lucky Star" has been published in the BarBar lit mag, which you can read online for free. It's about a circus performer, named Star, who learns how far luck can take her.

I'm really excited. I had a great time researching details for this story, like historical circus facts and regional dialects.

It's wild to look at the original draft and compare it to the published version. I added so much more immersive detail during revision, cut out unnecessary parts, and added scenes to "show, not tell." Editing is key!
